Updated tattoo list

Alright, so here is the last list I posted:

A mermaid on my left foot.
A fleur-de-lis somewhere on my left side, or the left of my back, or my left inner forearm.
Another quote on the left side of my back, below the shoulder blade.
A realistic looking crab on my right shoulder blade.
An antique sewing machine.
The theatre tragedy/comedy masks.
A compass?

Don't want at the moment:
A fleur-de-lis. I feel like I might still get one, but not sure where to place it. I'm pretty driven to the beautiful antique-looking ones.

The rest I still want.

Now add:

An antique pair of scissors on my inner right forearm (I drew one out awhile ago)
Sleeves. Muhahah this will scare people.
I'd like a vintage-themed sleeve on my right arm, shoulder to wrist I think. A rad-looking sugar skull to start at the top (so it fits in the roundness of the top of the arm/shoulder), then a pinup girl (I'm thinking she's going to be sewing), some banner action, roses, and sparrows.
A water-themed sleeve on my left arm, shoulder to wrist probably. The crab I want to get I'll change to my left shoulder, and have it flow into my water sleeve. It'll have imagery of an octopus, jellyfish, waves, koi.
I'm debating whether a nice clipper/galleon, anchors, compass should be in the water sleeve or the vintage sleeve, because those elements are now going into a nautical theme. OR MAYBE I COULD DO SOME NAUTICAL STUFF ON A LEG! :O! I will have a mermaid on my left food... hehe.
I would eventually love to get a portrait of my parents on my back, probably on my right shoulder blade. There's this great photo of them from maybe the early eighties or something, and it's of them sitting next to this big alligator sculpture (probably in Malaysia somewhere), and they look really young and chill, with really cool retro outfits and hair.
The antique sewing machine I'm thinking could go on my right upper thigh.

Other ideas that I'm playing around with in my head are just maybe some more florals, pinups, and if I've gotten to the point where I have this amount of ink, I would get a DOMO tattoo. Yes I would. Because by that point, it wouldn't even matter to me.

So, you can judge me all you like, but tattoos have taken a whole different level in this day and age. I personally blame the 90s and the 80s for some of the notorious "bad" tattoos, and the weird tribal/celtic stuff, and the names (when it's not a memorial). Also, you can see that now so many more people who are NOT criminals, sailors, prostitutes, and circus freaks get tattoos.
Please check out The Body Modification Directory. This is my best friend's directory on all things body modification. She's written some really awesome posts about people who are body modified, and who have really great positions in today's society, and even some royalty back in the day were known to have tattoos. There are just some really great posts that will put you in a different perspective when it comes to body modifications.
Before you judge people who have tattoos, please look at their piece and think, they've made a decision about what they want to carry on their body permanently, and it's not just some ink on skin, it's art, and maybe you could even call it living art. Tattoos are inevitably going to fade, the ink will bleed, and just like the body, it will change, but it depends on how you take care of the tattoo, and yourself, and it only ages as you age, and inevitably, you age every year, every day, and every second. There are some really AMAZING artists out there nowadays, and when you look at their work, it's hard to believe they're able to do it with a vibrating needle (that can vibrate up to 5000 times/minute) on a surface like the human skin. When you see some really impressive, intricate, and beautiful pieces on people, you could also think about the money they've invested in this - meaning they probably are doing ok in life (so, not a degenerate), and finding some extra time and money to invest in a lifelong tattoo, that you can never take from them. There is nothing much else in the world that is as permanent as a tattoo on a living body, and it will still be on there when the person dies.
That's a pretty worthwhile investment in my books.
